Well, I get in these creative mental frenzies … the ideas pour in and I create amazing things in my mind. I play with shape and color; balance and movement; adding, discarding and changing ideas constantly. I have books and strips of receipt paper filled with ideas, sketches and quotes, and sometimes I can’t write fast enough. Be it a design concept, a technical problem I’m trying to work out or my latest art/craft project, it swirls into my mind and distills into a solution.

And all of this while I should be sleeping—Insomnia Arts—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here’s why: Last night, couldn’t sleep. My head was full of clay sculptures metamorphosing from one form to another: Shape, texture, color; movement, contrast, mood; like a slow kaleidoscope. And today? I had probably the most productive and fulfilling day I’ve had in my clay sculpture class so far. My mental creations are captured!
